PeaceHealth is seeking a Radiology Technologist for a Full Time, 0.90 FTE, Day position. Shift: Shift: Sun-Tues, 3x12s, 600-1830. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $37.53 – $55.84. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

Hiring bonus and relocation assistance may be available.

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

Prepares for and performs standard x-ray examinations and may perform fluoroscopic procedures. Performs portable examinations and may perform surgical x-ray procedures. Utilizes proper positioning and selection of appropriate technical factors using various radiographic equipment to obtain optimal results.

DETAILS OF POSITION:

  • Prepare, supply, and equip exam room to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures.

  • Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required.

  • Integrates previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history and medical records to optimize exam.

  • Perform most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary.

  • Provides patient education and instruction prior to and after examination. Provide training/education to staff and students as indicated.

  • Demonstrates ability to adapt exam to address problems of patient care as they arise making decisions to appropriately resolve problems.

  • Performs x-ray examinations applying appropriate infection control and radiation safety measures.

  • Applies ALARA principle to ensure appropriate radiation safety for self. patient, and visitor. Evaluates patient for pregnancy prior to exam as indicated.

  • May perform surgical x-ray examinations, will utilize appropriate radiation safety measures and adhering to AORN standards.

  • Performs other patient care activities, duties and responsibilities as assigned consistent with Caregivers’ scope of practice, training, experience, and license/certification/registration.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Accredited School Required: Radiologic Technology.

  • Minimum of 1 year Preferred: Relevant experience

  • Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development, and life stages to meet each patient’s need

  • Required: Demonstrated venipuncture competency

  • Required: PACS/RIS knowledge

  • Required: Radiology Technologist - Washington

  • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Required)

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and display flexibility in a fast paced and changing work environment (Required)

  • Ability to work with basic office equipment such as telephones, copier, facsimiles, computers, etc. (Required)

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills (Required)

Department / Location Specific Notes

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center:

  • Recent Graduates, within 30 days of graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology Program, ARRT eligible, ARRT(R) certification required within 3 months of hire. May work under WA Temporary X-Ray Technician Registration (limited scope license) pending ARRT certification.

Working Conditions

Lifting

  • Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).

  • Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.

  • Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment.

  • Lift/Carry: Frequently up to 15 lbs. Occasionally up to 30 lbs.

  • Push/Pull: Frequently up to 13 lbs. force. Occasionally up to 30 lbs. force.

  • Reaching frequently.

Environmental Conditions

  • Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.

Mental/Visual

  • Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
