PeaceHealth Director Finance - Operational Finance - Hybrid in Vancouver, Washington

PeaceHealth is seeking an Operational Finance Director.

This role directs, controls and is accountable for Finance within a Network. Develops long and short-term business strategies, operational plans and oversees implementation. Manages the design, structure, development and planning issues within scope of direction. Responsible for quality, service and regulatory compliance for areas of responsibility. Participates in the development of and implementation of financial policy, provides credible financial analyses, and guides decision making to preserve the financial position and performance of the organization.

What you will enjoy:

  • Directing and coordinating the annual operating budget process and long-range financial planning process assuring proper coordination with system financial strategic and capital planning processes. Providing high level as well as detailed analysis that supports budget targets and guidelines.

  • Participating in system work to streamline data collection for the medical center. Reviewing and coordinating financial reporting techniques to help make the most effective use of medical center resources. Providing management and staff education on financial reporting to provide a greater understanding of reporting requirements. Reporting the financial results of the operations on a regular basis, assuring that financial reporting and analyses are tailored to the unique needs of each business unit.

  • Developing and maintaining financial decision support systems (cost accounting, contract analysis and financial reporting) that support the decision-making activities of the region.

  • Providing customized financial analyses supporting the understanding and development of business plans and new business ventures such as joint ventures, mergers and business acquisitions.

  • Leading and overseeing the regional analysis and reporting for governmental reimbursement programs (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, etc.). Oversees annual finance audit.

  • Regularly evaluating and adjusting prices for all regional services in compliance with external requirements and consistent with system pricing policies.

  • Managing overall organization, operation, personnel, and management for area of responsibility. Directing recruitment, training and evaluation of personnel.

  • Developing and implementing plans to meet or exceed customer needs while simultaneously assuring excellent quality and service outcomes.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent combination of education or experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years Financial experience within healthcare.

  • Minimum of 5 years Management experience.

  • Certified Public Accountant preferred.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to deliver financial results for areas of accountability.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting and financial reporting policies and procedures in a hospital environment.

  • Must have working knowledge of hospital’s accounting and data processing information systems.

  • Must have critical thinking skills.

  • Must have ability to work collaboratively.

  • Must be detail oriented and well organized.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications.

Working Conditions

  • Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

  • Sedentary work.

  • Predominantly operates in an office environment.

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $71.25 – $106.87. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc
