The RiverBend sterile processing department is responsible for supporting surgery, endoscopy, cardiac catheterization, labor and delivery, plus scores of community clinics. Our technicians perform every step of the process from dirty to clean providing the highest level of care to hundreds of patients a day.
PeaceHealth offers a competitive compensation package with wages ranging from $21.90 – $32.50 plus shift differential, bonus pay for advanced certifications, retirement matching funds, medical, dental, and vison coverage, tuition reimbursement, generous time off, and private gym facility. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.
DETAILS OF THE POSITION:
You will be responsible for operating autoclaves and other equipment to clean, decontaminate and sterilize instruments and equipment, including power equipment as applicable. Also responsible for inspecting and assembling instruments, trays and packs.
Responsible for the coordination, assembly and distribution of supplies, equipment and instruments for surgical cases.
Re-stocking inventory.
Cleaning, decontaminating, disassembling and sterilizing instruments and supplies.
Operate a variety of sterilization equipment.
Clean and maintain department equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience
- Preferred: Completion of a National Central Service Technician course and/or six months experience as a Sterile Process Technician
Credentials
- Required within 1 Year: Natl Sterile Processing/Distribution Certification from IAHCSMM, CBSPD or other nationally recognized certifying body
Skills
Basic computer skills including MS Office applications. (Required)
Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communications. (Required)
A minimum of three (3) months’ experience as a Sterile Processing Technician required or three (3) month’s experience as a Veterinary Technician, Dental Technician, Surgical Support Aide, or other medical related technician role whose responsibilities included cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing surgical instrumentation.
