Evidence based, patient centered, CRNA practice at a Critical Access Hospital. 20-minute response time for all emergency and OB cases. 1 CRNA available for after- hours, weekends and holiday coverage. Experience preferred and ability to work autonomously required.

Peace Harbor is a Level III Trauma Center with 24/7 coverage, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, and OB.

  • Contemporary all CRNA Practice

  • General anesthesia including TIVA

  • Advanced airway management techniques

  • Regional anesthesia Ultrasound guided peripheral nerve blocks

  • Neuraxial anesthesia –epidural and spinal anesthesia

  • Obstetric anesthesia – epidural analgesia (PCEA)

  • Peripherally inserted Central Catheter (PICC) placement

  • Radial artery cannulation

  • Central Venous Catheter Placement

  • Pre-anesthesia evaluation and assessment

  • Postoperative patient management

  • Opioid Sparing/ Opioid Free Anesthetic Techniques

PeaceHealth Peace Harbor requires all CRNA’s to have and maintain current national certification by the AANA, as well as current nursing license in the state of Oregon.

Each CRNA is an active member of the Medical Staff and a Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP). Experience commensurate with an independent practice environment is preferred.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for performing a clinical evaluation of patients and formulating an anesthesia care plan and administering and monitoring anesthetics within established protocols during surgical, obstetrical and other medical procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Administer general and regional anesthetics to patients during surgical, obstetrical and other medical procedures. Closely monitors patient and modifies anesthesia as required to maintain patient at optimal status.

  • Determine, set-up and prepare necessary drugs, supplies and equipment for the administration of anesthetics.

  • Study patient records to determine probable effects of anesthetic on patient; monitor vital signs during course of procedure; take necessary action to ensure near normal physiological status of the patient.

  • Assist in moving patient from operating room to recover area; check patient periodically and take remedial measures to alleviate unfavorable post anesthesia effects as required.

  • Disassemble equipment and clean work area.

  • Complete and maintain applicable patient records in accordance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Accredited Program Required: Nurse Anesthesia. accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) or its predecessor.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years Required: Experience in obstetric anesthesia with strong skills in regional anesthesia and

  • Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs and

  • Required: Eligible for medical staff classification as Allied Health Professional

Skills

  • Strong communication skills (Required)

Department / Location Specific Notes

Obstetrics department: Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required.

Working Conditions

Lifting

  • Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).

  • Ability to maintain same position for long periods of time.

  • Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment.

  • Frequent push/ pull/ reach/ bend.

  • Occasional lift/carry.

Environmental Conditions

  • Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.

  • Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
