PeaceHealth Cottage Grove Medical Center is seeking a Speech Pathologist for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Day position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $42.23-$63.35 . The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the evaluation of patients, determining plan-of-care and goals of treatment, participating in treatment of patients within the scope of Speech and Language Pathology. Provides oversight to conditional licensees in the clinical fellowship year and students, in following the plan-of-care and treatment of patients appropriate to the age of the patient served; provides supervision to therapy aides and volunteers. Works as part of a patient care team toward the best outcomes for the patient.
Details of the position:
Evaluates assigned patients and establishes a treatment plan and goals, using data from a variety of sources, such as patient records, interviews, observation and team members.
Completes patient treatment according to plan of care and modifies plan to meet patient needs, and updates plan as appropriate.
Completes documentation accurately, timely, according to regulatory and state licensure requirements, and within professional standards.
Collaborates with other healthcare professionals as necessary to ensure smooth continuous care of the patients. May act as a liaison with nursing, medical and other therapy staffs to facilitate problem solving and coordination of other services and act as an educational resource.
Mentors and provides oversight to new caregivers, conditional licensees in the clinical fellowship year, and therapy aides. Provides clinical instruction and training to students.
Recommends and participates in development of new services and programs, quality improvement and monitoring activities.
What you bring:
Master’s or Doctorate of a Speech and Language Pathology program accredited by the American Speech and Hearing Association required.
Current Speech Pathology License from the state of Oregon licensing board required.
Clinical Certificate of competence from American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA)
Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
OTHER SKILLS:

Strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and display flexibility in a fast paced and changing work environment
Ability to assess patients’ conditions and exercise independent judgment
COTTAGE GROVE PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires fairly light physical exertion up to 33% of the time.
Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.
Work is performed under normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation. Reasonably anticipated exposure to blood and body fluids.
Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (34-65% of work time).
